» Cumann na mBunscol Shield Final

If you haven’t already heard the big news, our Senior Gaelic football team had a fantastic victory over local rivals Tyrellstown in Croke Park on November 5th! Corduff had a dream start with Othniel scoring a goal in the first minute. However Tyrellstown fought back with some great points and a well-taken goal. It was going to be a tight, hard-fought game between the two sides.
By half time, the score was 1-04 to 1-01, with Tyrellstown led by three points.
In the second half, Tyrellstown scored another wonderful goal. Despite being 6 points down, Corduff responded impressively with goals from Luke McCullagh and Jason Thorpe. By full-time, it was a draw but extra time saw St Patrick’s fight back to a superb victory. The final score was Corduff 5-06 Tyrellstown 2-09.

The school choir sang so well at the Christmas Carol Service and Confirmation ceremony in 2012/13 that they were invited to sing at the 1916 Commemoration Mass in Arbour Hill. This mass is held every year to mark the anniversary of the 1916 rising where many people died for Ireland's freedom. In attendance were the President M.D. Higgins, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny, An Tánaiste Eamonn Gilmore, Minister for Justice, Equality and Defense Alan Shatter, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald, Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton, Minister fotr Arts, Heritage and an Ghaeltacht Jimmy Deenihan, T.D. Gerry Adams, senators, members of the judiciary, officers from the Irish Defence Forces, ambassadors and  other distinguished guests. The choir sang extremely well and represented their school with great pride.  After the mass they attended the wreath placing ceremony in the prison graveyard where they met (and high-fived!) An Taoiseach. It was an amazing day and we are very, very proud of them!
