Activities

Apart from the wide range of Sports available after school, there are a number of other activities which the children may get involved in. Below is an outline of just some of these activities.

Scór na bPáistí

Every year the school enters the very popular Scór na bPáistí competition. In 2010 we entered two categories, one in singing and two teams in the team quiz competition. At the end of February, our group of singers won the County Final in the popular singing competition!! We also came joined second in a very competitive table quiz competition in the qualifiers. We enter the quiz section every year.

Choir

The school choir did themselves proud as usual this year at their Christmas carol service, Confirmation Enrolment class and of course the Confirmation Ceremony itself. Over the past few years they have sang in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in aid of a children’s hospice, the local Instituate of Technology, and numerous times at assembly within the school.

They have all worked very hard this year, staying behind after school on Wednesdays and their commitment, as always, is evident in their many successful performances during the school year.

The choir is directed and accompanied by Ms. Broderick, Ms Mulderrig and Ms O'Connell.

3rd Class Homework Club

A Homework Club is run on Tuesday and Wednesday after school with 3rd class. It usually consists of 8-12 children. The children spend 40 minutes doing their homework. They then have a lovely snack prepared by a member of staff and the children then have a fun activity. The fun activity can include sports, art, games or library time. If the children are very well behaved, they get an extra treat at the end of the year and they go on an outside trip outside the school.
